Join us for a "Radical Hospitality" workshop on Saturday, April 12th from 10:30-2:00 with the Rev. Dick Jones. All churches consider themselves "friendly", but those that practice Radical Hospitality tend to grow and thrive as all healthy churches should. Come and see what it is all about! Lunch will be provided. If possible, please call the church (876-6256) to let us know you are coming by Wednesday, April 9th so we are sure to prepare enough food and materials for everyone. Walk-ins are also welcome though.
God is at work in the New Horizon United Methodist Church! This congregation of just over 100 members is a wonderfully healthy, energized, and Spirit-filled congregation. The sign out front says, “We have a place for you,” and we strive to live out that motto every week by making everyone feel welcome and by providing opportunities for people of all ages to grow in faith. The people of this church are undoubtedly our greatest asset. They live out a contagious faith and genuine care for one another. Even first-time visitors often remark that this church “feels like home” from the moment you walk in the door. Perhaps the most unique trait of this church, though, is that we seem to have all the charm and genuine depth of relationships you can find in any traditional little country church, but we also have a fun, contemporary flavor about us, a beautiful new building, and lots of great programs and events for a church our size.
Most of all, the element that makes this place so wonderful is God’s presence among us. God is working powerfully through all the individuals in this church to accomplish far more than any of us could do with our own wisdom and strength. It is truly exciting to be a part of what God is doing here!
